About us

Team Dobermann
We have been running and racing our dogs for over 12 years and for the last eight years, we have now been running and racing with Dobermanns.
We chose the Dobermann breed because they are strong, intelligent and perfectly suited to our lifestyle. Our first Dobermann was imported, however our newest member of the team was bred very near to where we train and is the perfect mix of show and working lines.

Our dogs have all raced at National level with the British Sleddog Sport Federation (even those who are no longer with us) and our eldest dog who has now retired from competitive racing has represented Great Britain at World Championship level in Germany and France.
About Canicross Coaching

Our story - getting started
We began canicross over 12 years ago with a simple goal, to stay fit and make better use of our time by running with our dogs.
What started as something practical quickly became something much more! We fell in love with the experience - the connection with our dogs, the teamwork and the sense of freedom which is brought, running trails across the countryside.

But our first experiences weren't always straightforward. Many group situations felt intimidating and challenging to access as a beginner.
Our first experiences involved being kitted out and then sent off to run 2 miles, following others.

We had never ran that far before and even though we enjoyed it, we left not really understanding anything about the sport, skills or techniques required to participate safely and correctly - and that moment stayed with us for a long time.
Why we do
what we do
Our early experiences highlighted something important:

* There was a gap between getting started and feeling confident.

Too often, people are thrown into canicross without the guidance, knowledge and support they need - for both themselves and their dogs. An innocent enquiry on social media and before you know it, you're parking in a layby somewhere and running behind or with someone you've never met and hoping that they are going to give you the right information.

Canicross Coaching was created to change that for dog owners in Nottinghamshire, East Lincolnshire and Sherwood We are insured, experienced and have been committed to ongoing CPD since we began.
Not only that, but we are also involved with the British Sleddog Sports Federation and have confidently created an independent club right here in the heart of Nottinghamshire.
